Attention to all Zambian students in Moscow! This is to inform you that the long awaited Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday, 12th April, 2008 at 15 O'clock in MEI (Moscow engineering institute). It is advised that all students attend as this is the only viable way we can convene our aspirations and put our heads together for the betterment of our welfare.

On the agenda is the following:

1. Analysis of Studentsʼ problems (and preparation for meeting with delegates coming in from Zambia )

2. A review of the past year.

3. Consider, audit and adopt the drafted ZASU constitution.

4. Address and approve issues relating to funding and procurement of funds as recommended by the Executive committee.

  1. Transact any other special business.

The Dark Continent… wildlife safaris… apartheid… starvation… Our first impressions of Africa are often formed by news stories, adventure movies, or magazine photos. But Africa — the real Africa — is a continent of magnificent treasures of rich cultures and ancient civilizations. These have remained unknown to many in the most western countries - from the breathtaking stone architecture of 1,000-year-old ruins in South Africa, the mighty Victoria Falls in Zambia to an advanced 16th century international university in Timbuktu. In most cases,  many of these African wonders have been hidden from the world, lost to the ravages of time, nature and repressive governments.

It is for this reason that we, as Africans and indeed Zambians, during the African Week should organize ourselves to promote our culture and arts. The week will begin with exhibitions at different faculties within the People's Friendship University (Lumumba), followed by exhibitions in the main administrative block. Later on the last friday of April, we will have the Dancing Show to demonstrate our different dancing skills. We also be participating in the 'All countries'  exhibition on the 1st of May, 2008. however, there other events already taking place- the Girls Football Tournament.
